Thinking about buying a CX-7
I have a Mazda 6 with almost 200,000 miles on it & its due for a new tranny. I love my mazda but want to go to a crossover suv for some more room. What are the opinions on the CX -7 and the mileage you get out of it??? I'm thinking of buying a used one; i've been looking at 2007's.

I purchased a 2010 grand touring CX-7 with the turbo seven months ago, my wife and I took it out on a 1200 mile road trip. It now has 5,245 miles on it an had it's first oil change an we got back. For a little four banger it has some get up an go, the seating is comfortable, both of us made the last strech home 15 hour drive, I know kinda nuts, but we made it. All I can say if your Mazda 6 was good, the CX-7 will be better. Next oil change, I'm switching over to Mobil 1 synthetic, that's what I've used in all my other cars.... over all I don't think that you'll be disappointed. Good Luck !

The wife and I just bought a 2010 CX-7. We got the sport model with the convenience package. That comes with the sun roof, back up camera, and some other gadgets. We like it. We only have 500 miles on it so far. I have a 2006 Mazda3 with 92,000 miles on it. I love that car, but I had to put a new tranny in it at 89,000 miles. Hopefully that was just bad luck. I think Mazda's are good cars for the most part. Anyway the CX-7 is nice, and looks cooler than the other CUV's out there. Also the 2010's have 0% financing for 60 months right now, so it might be cheeper than a used one. Check it out.

Hi Blur98
I'm new to the forum, but thought I'd chime in. I just bought a new 2010 CX-7 i-SV for my daughter for $18k +ttl after all rebate/incentive applied. It is a beautiful car & I got over 28 mpg on the freeway driving it back from the dealer the other day. In hindsight, I think we could have gotten a Sport (without the convenience package) for no more than $500 more and gotten the bluetooth, tint, & leather-wrapped wheel.
We didn't opt for the 0% because it takes away from the mfg-to-dealer incentive & thus would have raised the price of the car more than the interest on my 2.99% financing from the credit union. (Mazda is currently giving dealers $2000 on the 2010 i-SV & $2500 on the 2010 Sport in order to move them off the lots - that's in addition to the $750 to customer rebate)
Word of caution - check how many dealer miles have already been put on any 2010 you buy & how long it's been sitting out in the sun on a lot. Our new one looks pretty good, but it could look a little better I think for a new car. I'm going to "clay" it then hit it with a coat of good wax in order to get it looking it's best. I've read you should do this on any new car anyway - should have insisted the dealer do that before pickup, but .... too late now, I bought it 200 miles away.

Now daughter won't let it leave the garage if it's even so much as raining a little bit!
