08cx9 windshield distortion
I purchased my x-9 in Dec 07,not driven much but in Jan while on a short road tripI noticed an obvious"wave" distortion in the passanger side of the windshield.Makes you look toward it and what you see looks like a "fun house"morror.Went to dealer and they agreed, replaced same and the replacement has same distortion.Dealer says "it's normal" due to size of glass, looked at 5 others on lot and they all seem to have this.I don't think it's normal on a $39K vehicle.I have called Mazda USA and they agreed to replace it again.Have any of you seen this on a new 2008 cx9 grand touring?I'd like to know cause I'm about to trade this and right it off as a bad experience with Mazda never to buy again.[:@][:'(]

RE: 08cx9 windshield distortion
If your original had it, the replacement had it, and all 5 other vehicles you looked at also had it....most likely it is normal. That's far from a flat piece of glass....it has nothing to do with the cost of the vehicle. The larger and curvier you make it, the more difficult it is to get a perfectly clear view through the glass.

Thanks for the input,Just heard from Mazda today, they have "no fix" for this distortion, saying they agree some units have a more noticable distortion and to satisfy my complaint they are going to order an after market glass, have Mazda zone manager meet me at dealership to view glass and if acceptable install.I hope this glass is a better make.I hate to take a $5000 loss on car, but I don't want to be in an accident due to this visual defect but I would not keep this vehicle nor recommend it to others.

RE: 08cx9 windshield distortion
Hello again,Mazda called today, I will receive a new OEM windshield and drivers side mirror on the 14th.Mirror has been redesigned so I'm told and came from Japan, they are sending a factory rep from Cal.to install.I'm very supprised with this information, they admit to having an issue with the mirror vibrating and this is a new design model.
