2008 Mazda CX-9- Right Front Brake 'Dragging'
For the last several months, I have had increasingly frequent occurrences of the right front brake 'dragging' on my 2008 Mazda CX-9. I have no warning lights in the car. I have taken the car to two shops and a Mazda dealer and none have been able to diagnose the problem. I know it isn't a sticking caliper because if I open the bleeder valve on the right front wheel, the pressure is relieved and the wheel spins freely. There seems to be hydraulic pressure being held on that wheel only. If I jack the car up, the right front wheel cannot be rotated freely while the other wheels can.
I am hoping someone can help diagnose the problem. Here is what I have done to the car at various points:
Any thoughts on the cause for this problem or the next steps I should take?
Appreciate the help!
I am hoping someone can help diagnose the problem. Here is what I have done to the car at various points:
- Replaced the caliper, brake line, rotor, pads
- Flushed the braking system
- disconnected the right front brake line from the ABS control module and blew out the line with compressed air from both directions (in case there was an obstruction in the steel brake line)
- Removed both ABS fuses (the 'ABS' and the 'ABS Solenoid')- as expected, this caused the 'ABS', 'TCS' and 'Brake' light to come on. I was hoping that if it was an electrical problem, that removing power to the ABS system would alleviate the symptoms, but it didn't.
Any thoughts on the cause for this problem or the next steps I should take?
Appreciate the help!
