Default 2018 CX9 Tires

I need to replace my tires The car came with Yokohama tires, P255/60R 18. I have 45000 miles on them. I'd like to replace them with Michelin but I'm told Michelin only makes a sport tire in this size. I would like to return to the quiet smooth ride when I bought the car. I am hearing different noises now and I suspect it's the tires. I live in Philadelphia PA. Any recommendations?

If not Michelin, then I'd go with Continental. I've had great results with their tires.

Check out the Vredestein Quatrac Pro on Tirerack. They are rated extremely well against the usual brands in the US. They seem to be new to the North American market but have been in Europe for over a century.

The tires that came with my CX-9 are the worst - can't wait to wear them out. I will likely get the Vredesteins.

Default CX9 tires

Thanks for the information. I have a set of Continentals going on tomorrow.
the CX9 tire size (255/60r18 is not as available as most tire sizes, limiting the selection. It’s the 60 series and that’s a problem. Michelin only makes a summer tire in this size.
i hear a low level Wap-wap-wap sound above 40 mph. Im hoping it’s the tires. Only have 45000 miles on the OEM Yokohama tires. I’m hoping it’s not the hubs. I’ll know tomorrow when I pick the car up.

My bad - I completely missed your mentioning P255/60R18 in your original post. You're right, the tire I mentioned does not come in that size. 😫

Let us know if the new tires fix that funky sounds at 40 MPH.

Default CX 9 Tires

The new Continental tires (cross climate) are great. The car feels new again. The OEM Yokohama tires were great in the beginning but the quiet ride faded once I got over 30,000 miles or so. Don’t know how long this great ride will last but I’m hoping I get around 50,000. So based on what I’m feeling today I recommend these tires for the CX 9. I might be wrong in 25,000 miles but they’re great so far.

I have a 2018 cx9 touring FWD. I had to replace tires really early and i don’t drive a lot. Replaced in 2019 with Nexiun. They were terrible. Not the handling or ride but the wah wah wah like you described. I ran over a lag bolt a week ago and no we are ping to replace all 4. Hopefully I can find some without the noise.
