2018 Mazda CX9 Touring--Hitch Receiver??
#2
There are 4 choices:
Mazda, overpriced, do they even offer the 2" class III/IV?
Curt
First Brands, labeled Draw-Tite or U-Haul
etrailer.com's own label
https://www.etrailer.com/hitch-2018_...s-2_Inch_Hitch
The latter 3 are all 2" class III/IV and priced in the $200 range. etrailer.com lists them all as a 5 out or 10 degree of difficulty to install. I have the 2" Draw-Tite, I also trust Curt, and etrailer.com is a trusted vendor.
Tips...buy an exhaust hanger removal tool to remove the exhaust system from the rubber hangers, about $10. Squirt some silicone lube or WD-40 on the exhaust part in the rubber so it slides easier. Have wooden blocks or some other way to support the exhaust system while you're working, and to support the receiver until it is bolted into place. The wiring kit requires popping loose the interior panels at the back of the car. Not hard but kind'a confusing the first time.

Thank you PT GUY~~
Thank you PT guy this is invaluable information!! I appreciate you taking the time to help me with this.
I am looking at the vendors you have suggested. Now I believe this is doable.

Make sure that whoever installs your new hitch that they use weather sealed electrical connections and taps (if necessary) You need to specify this with the installer. And use dielectric grease on the connector.
