All weather tires on 2019 GS-L
Howdy,
I got a 2019 CX-9 GS-L a few months ago. Winter is coming up here in Canada, and with it the need for good winter tread. I also plan to do some light gravel/backroad driving next summer, for which the stock Ecopias will be an absolute disgrace. I thought it a stroke of genius to get myself some all-weather all-terrain tires like the Nokian Rotiivas... until I discovered they do not come in the stock P255/50R20 size of the GS-L. So, a few questions:
- Are there any all-weather tires in the stock size? (All-terrain capability a bonus).
- Under winter driving, the manual states that, if one needs to use chains (which I don't), the stock tires can be replaced for P255/60R18s Has anybody done this? Is there any effect on car systems/calibration/ride/fuel economy/etc/etc/etc? The Rotiivas do come in this size. Plus I would be able to put chains on them in a pinch.
- Any other suggestions? Really trying hard to avoid keeping to sets of tires here (especially since I'm planning on junking the Ecopias anyways).
