HELP!

Does anyone know how to get the hood open when the cable has either broken or disconnected from the latch under the hood?

I took the plastic panel off under the radiator and still can't reach the release with a coat hanger or a long @ss screw driver.

It looks like it's designed to keep people from getting in from the front or from underneath.

Anyone have a solution or know if the dealer has a special tool or trick to open it?

I really don't want to break the grill...

 

There are many videos on YouTube that deal with this type of problem. I could not find one specific to a CX-9 but check it out anyway - you might find one that resembles your layout. Most, if not all of them require prying the latch open from the front with a long rod, like a screwdriver. If done carefully, you won't even scratch anything. 😊 Good luck!!

The dealer ended up taking off the bumper and grill to get in their and replace the spring...
