Default Heavy steering 2018 CX-9

Hi, Recently bought a 2018 CX-9 in good condition after selling my CX-5. I notice the Cx-9 steering is pretty heavy compared to my prev CX-5. The Mazda service guys says this is normal since it's a heavier car?!? Is this true? Thanks.

Could be, most of the mazda I know have electric power steering pump. My Odyssey steering is not that hard even though it may be heavier that the CX-9. If i were u I'll try to got and test drive another CX-9 and take it from there.

Check your tyre pressures. 38psi is optimal.

^ Always worth doing. It's funny how a low front tire can impact feel of the steering, when it's low enough, even if not low enough to prompt the TPMS to notify.

Where is the fuse for the electric steering? Find the fuse, check it. If blown, replace it. If it blows again, take it to a shop to be fixed.

Hi Ok will check... I think I've followed the tyre placard on the side door which is 33psi. Thanks.

Not that it should make any difference to the steering feel, but I recommend setting your tyres to 38psi.

Thanks will do, but just for my knowledge wny 38psi instead of the tyre placard's recommendation of 33psi? Thanks.
