Default Rear bumper trim replacement

I have a 2019 CX-9 GT. Love this car!!! When attaching a utility trailer to the hitch today, the trailer rolled into the car denting the chrome trim and I want to replace it. Wondering if anyone has done this themselves and if it was easy to do or should I just pay more to get Mazda to do this? The part I need to buy is:

MAZDA OEM 16-18 CX-9-Bumper Trim-Molding TK5050369C

I have read that there are 6 bolts under holding this piece and it is hard to get at.

Also, where do you buy your parts in Canada?

Thanks.

I'm confused by this issue as well. I can't determine if the entire rear bumper must be removed to get at the connectors, or not.

Because I had a trailer hitch installed, we could not get to the 6 bolts as easily as Mazda said we should be able to.
I ended up taking the car to the Mazda collision centre (labour was less than service) for them to remove the rear bumper and get this, the side panel over the passenger rear tire!!!!! Can you believe this? All to just replace the chrome trim. Sadly, the tech removing the side panel over my rear tire used a tool to remove the panel that then dented the panel. I complained, that I suppose that's what I get for being so prideful. Thankfully they then replaced that piece for me for free so now, the car is looking new again which makes me happy!

Thanks for info on how it went with your vehicle – I guess I'll order the part online (around $70.00 US) then take it to a dealer that does bodywork, and see what happens -- like you, I just want it back to looking new! Mine is now 4 years old, but otherwise perfect.
