Question Water in Brake Booster

We have a 2008 CX9 - 35K miles, regular service at a great shop. This morning the brakes failed when pulling out of the parking space after having an alignment and oil change. Tech pulled a lot of water out of the brake booster. No damage to brake lines, no kinked hoses, no leaks - just a lot of water.
Has anybody else ever had this issue?

Update on this issue.
Car has 45K miles not 35K miles
Shop pulled the diaphragm out and it has deteriorated at the bottom like it was melting with a small pinhole and some different colored liquid in addition to the water they evacuated. This booster has never been opened except to check fluid levels and no fluid has ever been added. Same shop has always done the work so we have a good paper trail.
Could this be a bigger issue for Mazda?
Any similar failures out there?
We went in for oil change and rotation/alignment service because of the left pull like several other people have talked about and then this.
Love the car but is this the tip of the iceburg?
