The Apple Carplay in my new MX-5 stopped working. I now have to "delete" the phone and reconnect via a cable for it to work each time. Have others experienced similar issues? Hoping that there's some fix I can do myself (e.g., resetting the unit). Otherwise, I'll have to find time to take it into the dealer.

 

I found this post via a google search and I'm wondering if you ever found a solution. The wireless CarPlay in my 2022 MX-5 is kludgey as hell. Sometimes it connects, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes takes 15 seconds to connect, sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes not at all. I also have had to delete and re-add the phone to get it to work. I'd like to just change the settings to make CarPlay only work with a hardwired connection. Our other two cars work that way and it's way more reliable. My phone is almost always plugged in anyway.

Outside of this minor annoyance, I'm loving the car. It's my first Miata (and first Mazda) and my first convertible and it's a blast. Truly puts a smile on my face every time I get in the car. But the CarPlay issues are a bit annoying for sure.
