Default Late 90s Miata Question

My son is considering a couple of late 90s Miatas. They seem in good shape and well maitained. Is there anything in particular he needs to know before the purchase? Specific problems? Idiocyncrasies? Just looking for any experiences you might have had. My 2005 Mazda 3 is our first Mazda.

Thanks

The Mazda Miata has one of the highest customer satisfaction ratings around and they are pretty reliable. I've never heard anybody bring up reliability issues when talking about the Miata. It won many fun to drive awards and I think it is a very good choice for you son if he doesn't mid only having 2 seats. Go with him for the test drives I think you'll be impressed of how "free" the car feels and it is easy to control and correct when driving. I say it's a good choice and is a good way for your son to get used to a rear wheel drive car (often harder to control but the Miata is a good transition or first car to drive). Just the shear controlibility of the Miata would make it a great platform to gather driving skills and keep your son safe. Hopw I could have helped.

Thanks Turbo. I will take the lack of replies as confirmation of what you're saying. We're going on Thursdsay to look at two. He is likely to buy one if it drives nice and checks out. Thanks again.
