Liam and Joe Maddox 2003 Mazda Miata Build
So my friend calls me up and says "Hey man, you want a miata?" and I am like F*CK NO! haha
I told him I kinda just do rx7's and am not really into these cars. I know they are like the best little corner car and almost nothing is as fun but I just am not feeling the miata. So I look over my shoulder and say "Hey liam, want a miata?" Confused he asked about it. And that is where it started! My friends parents bought the car new and he took it over when they bought a new car. He ended up blowing the motor in it at about 225k miles and gave me first dibs on the shell after he bought a new turbo toy. It was a straight car, some interior wear and a blown head gasket, like really blow, but otherwise a great build project for liam to take on.
It is splash green in color, an interesting metallic

(sorry the builds picture quality it was from when my kid was 13-16 and shot on a GoPro silver)

So we started a little thing with a group of friends who enjoy meets, cruises and little courses and tracks we find in the PNW. Maybe its something you find interesting?
Project Peak Racers is a little group of car enthusiasts in the PNW who enjoy the Willamette and Santiam mountain ranges. Cruises, time attacks, head to head or touring runs are enjoyed and experiences shared on our social media pages.

Marys Peak is the highlight of the PNW having one of the most exciting roads around. Here are a few of the locals enjoying the mountain:
Rx7 vs Rx7
Rx7 vs Miata
Miata vs Jeep SRT (w/handicap)
SRT8 vs SRT8
BMW e36 vs BMW
We often hold meets and have touring events to the top each summer:
A forest fire destroyed this campground on the top of the mountain a few years ago. The road was repaved and they are starting to open the grounds for rebuild. This was the perfect time to enjoy a little course that will be open to the public soon and traffic would make this impossible. So we got to enjoy a little closed course secret track.
The Time Attack:
The Full Course Preview:
All just for the fun of the drive. The lacking trees and current construction making it possible to barely fit in between the speed bumps and the closed off side roads made this a fantastic feeling track!
