Need to replace 2001 Passenger Door
Good afternoon,
I have a 2001 Mazda Miata SE. Unfortunately, someone tried to break into the car via the passenger door and caused a significant amount of damage that will require replacing the entire door on my own (I sadly only have limited liability insurance given the car's age). A local PIck n' Pull has a 1999 Miata on-site, but I've heard that 1998 and 1999 doors have a different door card design (which I'm guessing means the door itself is different). Can anyone confirm the years that are 100% compatible with a 2001 door card?
Much thanks,

For posterity here's the answer I received over on https://forum.miata.net/:
"No, adding an NB2 door to an NB1 is not plug and play. It’s due to the internal layout of the door cards and the door lock locations. However, I don’t know if the actual shells differ. It may be possible to convert all of the guts, but i’m not 100% certain. But it will be more work than swapping from the same year."
