New at miatas, how hard is it to replace a MAF?
Hey guys,
Im getting a 1990 Mazda Miata soon, (trading a vespa for it).
It has some issues with the mass air flow sensor, the person who has it says that its getting harder to start, I got a replacement sensor today, but was just curious, I will be new at this so I just want to be careful not to damage anything. Is there any tips or ideas on installing a replacement sensor?
Thanks!
Alex

Just be careful not to poke anything into it. Assuming there's a MAF in the car you're getting, look at how it's fitted, take it out, and pop the new one in, making sure the arrow points toward the engine. Other than that, you only have to ensure the connections to the air filter and the inlet duct (especially) are airtight and that the electrical connections are clean.
There are no adjustments needed.

Maf
Thanks, I just got the car, I dont think the maf is the problem, the guy didnt have the bolts on the filter, so there was definetly an airleak.
I do have another problem, which I will put on another post.
