Default Trunk Lid Support

Guys I have a 1991 Miata with a funny problem with m y Trunk Lid. I cannot get it to stay up. It seems that the factory rod springs is not working properly. Does anyone has similar situation and what is your solution. I have had tjis car about 3 yeras nor and it has always been that way.....

Give me a solution that does not means I have to install a separate Trunk Lift Kit..

remove them (they are under tension so watch out).get a bud to help you bend them back past the factory shape. don't go too over board or you won't be able to get them back in. good luck.
