CV Joints
I posted before about but want to make sure...................96 Millenia, just turned 61,000 miles. When I turn right either coasting or accelerating I hear a deep rattle/clicking noise on the driver front close to the
wheels.
Does this sound like CV Joints? When going left under the same conditions there is not any noise. If it is the left front cv's and not the right front do you fix both at the same time or replace as needed? Also is a Mazda dealership the best place for repair or other chains such as Pepboys or something close.

RE: CV Joints
generally, the boots will first tear. then the grease inside gets out, and the joints die. look at the area inside your front wheels, and at the outer joint. see if there are chunks of grease all over. another test is to do a fairly hard acceleration from a stop while in a full lock turn. you can hear them banging then. we have 2 99's, both needed axles at about 60k.

RE: CV Joints
Sounds like an outer joint. You will have to visually inspect them but if one is gone the other is probably soon to follow. I would put a rebuilt aftermarket axle/axles in it. Most dealers offer it instead of the pricey new ones. A rebuilt axle will cost between $65- $125 bucks average, plus labor.
