OBD1 or OBD2?

RE: OBD1 or OBD2?
I went through the same struggle 1995 2.5L. Then today I took the leap and bought a nice new OBDII scan tool. And guess what...it works perfectly!!! The connector is just barely under the dash on the driver's side right next to the center column. It is mounted to the underside of the dash facing forward instead of down so at first glance it doesn't look like a connector. Threw me off for almost two years!
Then I was reading the shop manual yesterday and it said it was OBDII. No stickers or anything in the car seemed to show this though. So I figured I would buy one and see.
The tool I bought was the Actron CP9175 and I bought it off amazon.com for about $90 (it's $130 in stores!) There's a pocket scanner for $50 ($() in stores) and it should be fine as well but unlike mine, it doesn't have the sensor data capture or the definitions of the codes - just the codes themselves. I am just learning the ropes with it. So go on out and get that OBDII sensor you were so unsure about. It will work!
