Default oil soaked plug - missfire Cyl 1 message

Hello all!

Problem - idols rough, shutters sometimes at low rpms, check eng light on - error code for Cyl #1 missfire. Just timed it and changed Distributor, and wires. Cyl #1 gets strong spark but when I pulled the plug - it is soaked in oil - replaced it with a new plug - car runs the same. When I pull the wire from Cyl #1 while the car is running - no change at all in the idol.

HELP!!!!

Thanks!

How are you...Are the plugs soaked from the outside or the inside, you might want to consider your valve cover gasket needs to be replaced cause when the gaskets go bad oil with start to sneak in and settle on the plugs..good luck

Thanks for the response. Soaked from the inside - I hear that the gaskets are a pain to replace. You would think that when I changed the plugs the cylinder would fire for a few minutes at least?

i'm not sure where's cyl #1, but i just had mine done, they're leaking really bad,the back one is the worse, took me close to 3 hrs, the front one 1/2 hrs, this is the first time that i'd done, next time will be alot easier. It'sworking beautiful now no leaks.
