yep, about a month ago, my rearview mirror was dangling from the roof of my 99 milly s when i left work on a hot ohio day (took out a nice chunk of glass with it too) anyway, the dimmer and compass are not working now. i checked the cable from the mirror to the side plastic molding on the left side of the windshield...its a little scraped up but has no rips through to the copper. i tested the two leads with a multimeter and got no power so i figured its prob a fuse. there wasnt a description in the manual for the mirrors fuse so i looked at all the fuses (under hood and by drivers feet) except the gargantious engine fuses and all were fine....could there be an inline fuse i should look for or any other problem solvers? thanks a ton to anyone that reads this and any input is truly appreciated...i have a disgusting sense of direction and loved the compass.
