I have a 1998 Millenia with a 2.5L engine. Dealer says a tranny from a 1997-2002 will fit, but doesn't even acknowledge the change in 1998 (Hollander says a change took place in that year. Cars with the last six digits of the VIN at or below below 407285 is early '98; cars with the last six digits of the VIN at or above 407286 late '98.) A transmission seller on Ebay says, "A 1995 to 1998 will fit. Minor change most likely in gear ratio. You won't even notice. Trust me!" Another seller says the intake and exhaust manifold will need to be replaced if I use a 1995 to 1997 tranny. A friend who owns a used car dealership says because the last six digits of my VIN are 404202 only a 1998 tranny will fit, up to the changeover. Ugh. Can anyone shed any light on this? It's very frustrating. Any help is much appreciated!
