97 MPV still not starting!
I borrowed a neighbor's scan tool to pull the codes out of my 97 MPV for the no-start problem (see my other thread dated 6-13-07). It keeps coming back with P1345-Cylinder Discrimination Signal (from CMP sensor). That is the only error. I did have a fleeting moment of glory last night when it finally started again. It ran for about a minute, then died on its own. Now it will not start again. Every bit of research I do on the Internet keeps pointing to the distributor. Does anyone have a copy of the diagnostic proceedure from Mazda on what to check when this code pops up?
Thanks a million for your help!

RE: 97 MPV still not starting!
The 1345 code is inidicating that the camshaft position sensor signal fromwithin the distributor is not within normal range. Basically yourPCM does not "know" what cylinder is where so does not know when to fire the spark and just gives up. Not a whole lot to the diagnosis. Should be two connectors at the distributor with atotal of 7 wires. Both wires that are Black with white stripe shouldhave battery voltage when key is turned on or cranking. Black w/ Red stripe wire and Black w/ orange stripe wire are grounds. Wire that isPink w/ Black stripe isSGC or cam position signal wire to the PCM. Would be looking more for a Hertz reading here but should have either 0 or 5 voltswith key on and 2.5 volts at idle. Justlook to see if the volt reading changes from key on to cranking
