Electrical Issues - 91 MPV
Thanks for all the great info posted here - solved many a problem that I couldn't find in my repair manual.
A few months ago, the van stopped. Diagnosis was the ECU needed repair. Had it repaired, everything was great for 3 months. Now, sometimes it starts, and other times it doesn't - there's no spark.
Seems like something kicks in and drops the spark at some point. I've never been able to get the codes out of the van, although there is no check engine on right now.
Any ideas?
Thanks

RE: Electrical Issues - 91 MPV
Losing spark only at the plug wire ends or loosing all spark directly from the ignition coil? If coil spark is ok but none to spark plugs then give a close check to distributor cap center button. They have a tendancy on older MPV to burn up and cause problems.
If no spark from coilat all then make sure the voltages are good at the coil connector. Black with White stripe wire lights test light solid during crank and wire that is White with Black stripe is flashing. This will tell you if the coil is even getting a signal to produce a spark.
