Default Front end chatters when braking at speed

I find my front end vibrates and chatters when braking at highway speeds. Could this be a warped rotor or perhaps a loose ball joint?
Smooth at lower speeds.

Thanks for any replies.

Warped rotors. It is a heavy vehicle so i would not machine them as they will warp quickly since they will be thinner. Aftermarket rotors vary in price. $12-$40 or so. Just gotta shop them. The cost difference in machining or replacing is pretty close so your better off replacing them. Do not buy lifetime warranty brake pads. They are too hard and eat rotors quickly.

Any recommendations on getting the wheel nut off when replacing front rotors?
I have been somewhat challenged in getting the large nut off that is securing the front rotors...is there a trick to this? I was using a socket wrench with a "persuader" attached (steel pipe sleeved over the wrench to entend the level length) but only succeeded in rocking the van on the jack. Is this a job for an impact wrench?

Thanks!

Impact is the only way i have ever gotten that nut off. Maybe someone else has done itwith hand tools.
