loss of engine power
hi everybody.
i have mazda mpv turbo diesel. yesterday whilst driving at about 110 kmh i had a sudden drop in engine power as if the turbo cut out, but there were no noises and the motor is running smooth just less powerful. the power has not come back and the car wont accelerate very fast. to me its as if the turbo is not functioning. any suggestions?

RE: loss of engine power
Sorry can not be of help to you but Mazda has never had a diesel let alone a turbo diesel in the US market for the MPV so would not even know where to begin. The last diesel that Mazda had in US was early to mid 80's pickup.

RE: 323F Turbo diesel loss of engine power
Hi im new to this forum and would like to wish all here a very happy 2007
I have just purchased a 2002 (52 Reg) Mazda 323F 2.0 GLX Turbo Diesel
The car is very lack lusted and slow on take off, but as it gets there it seems alright?
The car is also very heavy on fuel. I put £10.00 of diesel in it the other day and covered 47 miles and the light is back on?
Ive been told that the Vaccum pipes could be fitted the wrong way around as there are many or even split. I unplugged the air flow meter and drove the car but still slow on take off.
If anyone out there has a diagram on all the turbo to airbox vaccum pipe etc i can see if any are fitted incorrectly etc.
Ps you can here the turbo and no dirty smoke comes out the rear. The car ticks over smooth but its just that is very un-powerful for im assuming 100 BHP car whichis a 2.0 16v DOHC engine
Ok great to hear from a specialist
Thank
