1992 Mazda MX6
Hi Everyone
Think I posted this message into the wrong forum.......
As much as I love my MX6, identifying an ongoing power surge is driving the Mazda dealers and a local electrical/mechanic in constant battle to find the the cause. There is no specific time of day where this occurs. When it does, there is a slight loss in power before the taco races to 2 1/2into neutral and the only way option is to throw it into neutral and let it ride. When this has happened I have pulled off the road, turn the car off and have trouble restarting the car unless the foot is flat on the exhalirator. While I know all about the fuel injector side of it and fully appreciate it is the wrong thing to do, am at a loss as to why it happens or how to resolve it!
Initial diagnostics identified two fo the codes within the computor required resetting, however, this did zero, the air compressor arm was replaced, this also did zero finally the computor was reset and to date the power surges continue. My thoughts are to replace the computor and take it from there.
My partner tells me its a girl and requires attention, I say it knows its going to be sold as this problem occurred a day after I decided to upgrade.
All jokes aside if anyone has experienced this before please help as I am not willing to sell a car where this problem exists, would not sleep very well at night knowing what could happen if someone other than an ex rally racer like myself would be driving it.
Alrighty look forward to reading your thoughts on this never ending problem!!
Cheers Mermaid

RE: 1992 Mazda MX6
NEED MORE INFO; IS YOUR CAR EQUIPPED WITH MANUAL OR AUTO TRANSAXLE?
HAVE YOU HAD ANY REPAIRS OR MODIFICATION BEFORE THIS STARTED? IF SO, WHAT WAS DONE?
HAS YOUR CAR BEEN IN A ACCIDENT? IF SO, WHAT WAS DAMAGED?
WHAT GEAR ARE YOU IN? DOES THE VEHICLE TRY TO INCREASE SPEED? WHEN YOU PLACE THE CAR IN NEUTRAL,
DOES THE RPM REMAIN AT 2500?
