Oxygen sensor: have I got the correct part#?
I have a '93 MX6 LS (V-6) w/manual gearbox and 80K miles.
Got code 17 which I believe is the inversion code for the left hand (front) oxygen sensor. Advance Auto gave me a Bosch #15729 which they listed as "Upstream". It is a 4-wire sensor but Is this the correct sensor? They also said the car takes 4 of these. I thought there were only 2(one for each bank). I replaced the rear one a couple of years ago. They listed some other sensors but I did not get a good look at their computer screen and just feel like the salesperson was in a bit of a hurry. Since these things are about $65 each I thought I should get confirmation before I rip out the old one.
thanks

RE: Oxygen sensor: have I got the correct part#?
Since I got no replies, guess I will have to answer my own post. I did some research and the best part from AAP should be Bosch 15708. This one is only a few $ more (~$64 pre-tax), but it has the OEM connector on it. The Bosch #15729 will work but you have to splice it to your existing connector.
BTW I cleared my codes and it has not come back in 2 days of driving. I am wondering if I have some other fuel or ignition issue that may have caused the computer to throw the inversion code. Recently I was getting misfiring when the plug wells filled with oil from a bad VC gasket. Maybe this caused the false code. Still at 80k miles, it is probably not a bad investment to install a new O2 sensor.
