Put it in neutral and pull the e-brake, add wheel chocks if the brakes don't work well. open the hood and grab the engine, rock it back and forth to see where you get the most flex. Inspect that corner with vigilence.

I almost suggested to put it on jack stands and have a friend rock it while you look at the mounts from below. But then I thought a car falling on your face might leave a permanent mark.....

okay so my car has FOUR motor mounts and i was confused because they all looked fine not cracked but didnt know about the 4th one under the battery box its pretty much ****ed so i ordered a new one AND a coolant temp sensor was one of the check engine codes so we will see what these two things do if everything is goodnext thing on my list is AC

Alrighty!
A/C is for the professionals. I've tried to get the A/C on the protege going. It is not reliable and I bypassed it with a shorter belt.
It did not work when i bought it. I filled it with refrigerant and ad it worked then for awhile. I found a small leak that is not easily fixed. Then the A/C clutch gave up. i replaced it with one from the junk yard , now the ocmpressor makes noises......
Ask a pro what it would take to get it done right.

Sticky valve maybe?
I wonder if it is shifting hard when you play feather foot. Try accelerating real slow.
