Default 03 keyless entry

The keyless entry on my 03 protege quit working so i figured it was the battery in the transmitter. i replaced it and it still doesnt work. i used the sequence on recoding the transmitters to the car and the locks do not cycle to confirm steps. the power locks are working and i have tested the keyless entry module and everything seems to check out fine. any ideas?

Default RE: 03 keyless entry

when i was looking through the wiring diagram on the keyless module, i noticed that it is somehow tied in with the rear wiper fuse in the kickpanel. I figured that this would not apply to my car sine it is the sedan which doesnt have a rear wiper. but i decided anyway to put a fuse in there and sure enough, when i did the sequence to program, the car responded. there has to be a fuse in the r.wiper slot to program the keyless entry. it would have been nice for mazda to publish that with the programming instructions.. o well hopefully someone with this problem will see this
