'03 Protege rpm stumble at stop

So far so good
Good afternoon.
I took the car to the shop Tuesday and they performed a tune-up. According to the mechanic, the fuel filter is in a hard to reach spot (?) and appeared to be original. His opinion was that it had not been changed during my previous tune-ups.
At any rate the tune-up (plugs, distributer parts, filter, etc) seems to have done the trick. The sputtering has not come back thus far.
The mechanic did not look at the EGR or the MAF because he believed that they would have pulled codes. I was not showing any codes.
I have a long trip to Virginia this weekend, so if the problem is still there, it will happen along the trip. If it does, we still have the other items noted in this thread to look at.
Thank-you all for your time and have a good weekend.
