Default 1.5L 1997 Protege Engine Mods. . . PROJECT HELP!

I have NEVER owned a mazda so i dont know too much about them. I DO however want to turbo my protege for a little more pep. About 6 psi on a proper tune.
I have a 1997 Mazda Protege with only 32,000 miles on it. (Grandma driven) 1.5L Manuel.
Its lowered 1.5 inches. 17 inch rims with low profile tires.
I need help on all the parts i need to get this project rolling! Price is NOT an option. I just want to order it and have it installed at Koss Motorsports.
Like what kind of turbo? Exhaust? Fuel pump? Plugs? Wires? Etc. . .
Website Links would be great! Whatever you guys recommend I will get. thanks for your help.

I'd recommend something "larger" than a 1.5L, personally

i agree with him. i have looked into turbowing my 96 1.5l and in the end cost out weighs the power gain. swaps i am looking into are a 1.8 from like a 93 protege there are some older protege that have engines with oil squirters in the blocks which would be a good start for a turbo. the swap looks to be straight foward with the motor mounts being the same or close to.the next swap i was looking into is a lot harder its a 2.3 from a newer speed 3. but one there will be lots of fab work to get it to fit. and two the cost to get that engine and trans $$$$

but back to turboing the 1.5l. when i was looking it looks like almost every part would need to be made turbo mani, downpipe oil drain and feed. the turbo would have to be small t25 probably. low boost would be a must. then you would need a piggy back ecu to comp for the added air flow. injectors would be hard to find the stock injectors will be over worked even with low boost.

so in the end a swap will be more cost effective in my opnion.

ive done little stuff to my 1.5 like an intake and modded the exhaust there was no change in power just sound. so im saving up money for an older protege engine.
hope this helped a bit.
