2nd Gen Power Lock Question
Hi, I just picked up a '95 Protege, the thing is in great shape, really fun to drive, super peppy... but my question is about the electric locks. The switch for them is missing on my car, and there are two wires there where it should be... When I touch them together, it unlocks the doors fine, but I can't figure out how to get it to lock. Im sure there is a plug further down the door panel, so I bet I can replace the switch, I just want to make sure that there are only supposed to be two wires, because I can't figure out how to get it to lock the doors. I tried grounding it to the door inside the door panel, but maybe the door isn't a good ground with the paint on it or something.
Thanks!

RE: 2nd Gen Power Lock Question
Two wires are all that you need at the lock switch. Should be White w/ Blue stripe and Black w/ Blue stripe. To get the doors to lock, go to radio shack and get a 1000 ohm resistor. Put the resistor between the two wires and they should lock. Replacement switch is $24.25 from dealer but should be able to save a few bucks at www.onlinemazdaparts.com . Two part number for the switch depending on color.
BC1D-66-660-09 if interior is dark grey. If interiror color is brown then substitute 90 in place of 09 in last two digits of the part number.
95 Protege did not come with keyless entry.
