96 Protege Fuel Pump Fuse Blowing
Car was driving down the road and died. Fuel pump fuse blown. Have replaced fuel pump, fuel relay (I believe it's the relay, passenger side of center console by the firewall?)
any other ideas, or tips on troubleshooting this?

im confused if your fuse blew why would you change the fuel pump? just change the fuse, but the easiest way to check to see if the relay is working is to turn your key so all the assesories work but don't turn on the car and listen to see if the fuel pump is priming (making noise for about 3 sec) if it is then its not your relay thats working.

I changed the fuel pump because that's what I thought was wrong, didn't know about the fuse until after the fuel pump swap. BUT with new fuel pump in, fuse kept blowing. Yes I changed the fuse, but the pump kept blowing it. Changed the relays, no changes.
Finally changed the fuel filter and it's running no problem. Guess it was a backedup filter. Problem now is, the new fuel pump is noisy as anything.
