Default 99 protege lx subframe

Hi guys. New to the forum. Looking at replacing the subframe in my 99 Mazda protege lx 1.6 manual due to large rust holeu. Looking for a used one preferably. What years can I find a matching one? Also will one with an auto trans work as well or are mounts different?

Also, how hard to change? Will motor and trans need to be removed or can it be done by just holding them up?

Should fit all the way up to an 03 model. Transmission shouldn't matter as it doesn't attach anyway. You can leave the left and right mounts in place but support it under the oil pan. If you have a mechanics strut tower support you can use one of those(handy to have) and it'll give you more room to lie underneath. Disconnect struts at control arms as well as the sway bar end links. Take the through bolts out of the front and rear engine mounts, remove the brace running front to back and you should be able to unbolt it and drop it out. At the very least replace the sway bar bushings, the rear mount, and the heater hoses while you're there. Note: leave the quick connects on the heater core alone and just cut the hoses off after removing the clamps. You'll see why when you get there.
