Thanks for jumping in, Kevinkpk.

In older Proteges the fan switch is often failing. If it fails it will turn the A/C off. It doesn't fail completely right away, it wont work on all speeds and then get worse.

Rus: I know you turn the *****, but is the **** moving the cable (wires) and are the wires moving the blend door and vent door? You have to look under the dashboard in the foot space to see that. You even may have to take a cover off.

Today I used speed 4 and had good cold air at a high rate both from the top vent and the combination top/bottom vent. The reason I suspect the fan switch is because when I got home I turned the AC off and then back on and lost the green AC button light and no cold.

I have a custom radio with a storage box below. I removed the box and could see the movements. Also, when I move the blend switch the air gets hot and when I move the vent door the air flow is directed to both the upper and lower vents. also the compressor remains on with all four seed settings and the hose remains cold but no air flow on 1, 2, or 3. Only on 4.

Maybe the blower resistor is burnt up. They can be expensive. So test it first.

I bought an HVAC resistor and should have it Monday. I'll post back the results of the new resistor.

Ordered the resistor from RockAuto Thursday and it came in today, Saturday.

I installed it and now I have AC and the correct fan speeds on all four settings.

I'm a happy camper!!!!!
