Engine cranks but no start
Hi Everybody,
I am a fist time user, i got some problems with my 03 protoge and i trying this forum after been suggested by a good friend of mine. I have done some reading on the forum already about my problem and althoug there have been some post about it hasnt fully answered my questions.
Problem;
Symptoms; Cranking but no start.
DTC Code: P0340
Suspected Cause: Lost oil and I suspect car car was driven without engine oil and car stalled while driving. Temp gauge read normal range when car stalled.
Done So far; Checked cam sensor, Resistance reading (1.15Ohms) Voltage reading whike cranking (50mV to 140mV)
Questiosn;
Is Cam sensor a probable cause? (Does Cam sensor prevent car from starting, I know resistance is within accepted range, is voltage reading OK?)
Any suggestions as to what diagnostics to perform next, my next step is compression test so confirm engine is not damaged from running without oil.
Any suggestiong will be great. Thanks

Have you checked the wiring for the camshaft position sensor?
