Yes, vacuum leaks are sneaky beasts. I would use several methods of diagnosis. There are plenty Youtubes on the topic.

And here is a comment to Neald's post: I believe someone earlier was on the right path with a fuel supply related problem like fuel pressure. This makes sense with low idle and lean condition. A vacuum leak would usually be a high idle and lean.

This is good thinking but with one caveat: These symptoms were very reliable with carburated engines but it is not that straight with fuel injected and emissions regulated engines. The computer tries to compensate for errors and that negates the symptoms.

Imaco: print out that checklist I posted earlier and use it to talk it over with your mechanic.

According to that attached list they did not check the vaccuum brake booster.
The only way to check it was the way i suggested, by pinching off the line and monitoring the data!

Hi my friends ....

I am so happy , my problem was solved and I bought the original MAF sensor from the Toms foreign website , the website is awesome and I bought the sensor as a used one from Mazda 6 2006 ... I installed it and after 250 miles the check engine light is still off ... I wanted to tell you the first sensor that I bought had dysfunction and if I wanted to buy the new one from dealership I should have paid around 150 but I bought the used 30 from the website ... thanks for all your comments and help .
