Default engine starting problem 97 protege

first thing in the mornings when the car is cold you have to step on the gas peddle a little to get it to start.i had the garage do a computer check on her today.the computer was reading 4 or 5 different codes:egr flow incorrect:#2cyclinder missfire and i cant remember the others.he then erased the codes then did some other tests and came up with a sensor that tells the computer the air temperature to controll the flap to get her to start.he said he thinks its the plug like sensor in the air box with wires running to it.i would like to see if anyone has run into this kind of problem before i start buying sensors it is becoming expensive.i already bought a temperature coolant sensor witch was 100.00/new plugs/wires/distributer cap & button/fuel filter/air filter/combustion chamber cleaner/brake and parts cleaner to clean mass air flow.

the code that came up was a barometric pressure switch.does anyone know what this is and where this is located on a 97 protege?

[&:]My '98 does the same thing but worse, I have to stand on the gas pedal to get it ot start and sometimes it doesn't. I bought one of those sensors you mentioned that goes on the air box and it did nothing. $72.00 down the drain. I also bought all the other stuff like wires, plugs, distributor cap, rotor button, air filter, fuel filter but I will probably have to take it to a mechanic to fix it. With the money I've spent I could have had it fixed. Anyway I will let you know what the mechanic finds. Good luck.
