Default MP2003: Need a new air intake hose

2003 Mazda Protege DX 1.8L 4 cycl

Seems like allot of folks are having the same problem I have with shuttering/hesitating upon acceleration. The cause of my problem was a gash in the hose, but once I sealed it up (thank you duct tape), acceleration power returned. When I went to PepBoys, they said they do not carry the hose I need. I found this part for a 2.0L. Was wondering if someone could verify whether it is interchangeable with my model.

Thank you!

I priced the part online at Autozone and it was around $43 for the intake hose for the 2002 Protoge with 2.0 liter motor. You are right about the duct tape, it worked wonders on sealing up the gash and power returns, as I have it right now.

Thanks for checking that out, Pep.

Ajkulish, thanks for the offer, I'll take you up on it if you are local to the DC area. May cost more to ship it than to purchase a new one depending on your loc
