Default Need help - 1997 protege CV joint dissassambly?

Could some one please give me some help to get the axleshaft out of the wheel hub. We tried to hammer it out, air hammer, and a three finger puller. Nothing has worked to break it loose. I guess it has too much rust to break free. Is there another tool to use, tapping on the axleshaft before it goes into the hub??? All other information seems to indicate that it comes apart, but we have had not luck.

Hi,

Here is the removal notes fromthe shop manual.

If the drive shaft will not come out of the wheel hub easily, install an already discarded nut onto the driveshaft so that the nut is flush with the endof the drive shaft. Tap the nut with a copper hammer to loosen the drive shaft from the front wheel hub.

Maybe this will help.

If this doesn't work, are there anyother suggestions??? We've tried heating and penetrating oil....
