Passenger side water leak

Passenger side water leak
Hi
My Mazda 2000 Protege hasa water leak on the passenger side floor when the A/C is running. I removed the glove box but can't see any visible water trails along the A/C unit. Is there any one that knows how to fix this or have a A/C unit diagram that I can follow to see where the A/C water pipe travels so I can check for pipe damage.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Neel.

RE: Passenger side water leak
Hey men... i could be, dirt in the water drain line... so, what i can you probably do!... go behind the glove comparment, take all thearea a parts, just to find where the water comfromand find the pipe. Use a compresor to blow compress air in the line to clean... repeat it... 3 o 4 times...put everithing back in place and turn the A/C on!!!... well, you'll see!!!
Note: dry every good the carpet... and leave a lemons or a piece of pineapple, under the seat... to control de odor naturally!...i hope that can be helpfull!

You want to check the drains around the blower unit. These tend to get blocked with crap. Use the link below to look for disassembly. I will tell you this, it is a pain in %$#%%. Nothing is easy to get into there.

Though to completely clean the leaves/debris from the evap case you need to disasemble it,it will just get more debris in it sooner or later. You can clean the drain in 10 seconds quite easily. The drain runs through the firewall on the passenger side. Just blow compressed air through that hose and it will break it up or at least move it. I do it all the time at no charge and never had one so clogged it came back on me.The debris usually consists of rotten leaves etc so 110 psi breaks it up.

Hey MazdaES,
The link you posted was part of a complete PDF workshop manual for the 2002 Protege published at http://protege5.ugly.net. Would you happen to have a link for the 2003 Protege workshop manual? I was going to buy one, but the price is very high (if I remember right, it was about $160). Thanks.

RE: Passenger side water leak
It indeed looks to be close. 2003 was the final year for the Protege and I imagine they weren't making too many significant changes from one model year to the next for the final two model years.
