Rev'ing while the clutch is pressed
Hi,
I have 1999 Protege with 141k miles on it. Lately, It caught my attention that - while shifting down with the clutch pressed down, with each down shift I hear high rev'ing. As if we do it without the clutch pressed down (Ofcourse, I am not holding down the accelerator). I dont think I heard this before, but I am not sure. The vehicle is starting fine and working fine, although I feel the power/pickup is little less than it used to be. May be I am imagining things, but I also feel that the idling noise is little louder.
Is this an issue with clutch wire? Or timing belt? Did anybody else observe things like this?
Please let me know,
thanks
