trouble with my 2000 protege
#11
I solved my problem. it was a bad camshaft pos. sensor. cool it would work fine. hot it would change its resisitance values. car kept running in bad mode because computer or pcm or ecm has a by pass loop in event of bad sensor. this allows the engine to keep running. but now I have another problem.the day before I replaced the sensor I took out my fuel pump assembly unit to put back in the old pump which was still good and return new pump to store. I couldn't change out the pump so I just put the unit back in. now my car wont start. cranks over strong but nothing else. also is it normal to see a small spark at the negative battery post when reconnecting the cable. mine did just that. I don't remember seeing that before. radio is in on position.
