Where is the EGR valve located?
I have learned that the reason for the check engine light on my '96 Protege being on is my EGR valve. Through some reasearch, I have found that it is simple to clean these, and it often solves the problem much cheaper than replacement. The problem is: where is it?
I am sort of a newbie when it comes to car repair, and vague diagrams relative to other obscure parts whose locations I am not familiar (as in my Haynes manual) are not terribly helpful.
Can anyone give me a solid location description, clear enough for a newbie to understand? Thanks.

RE: Where is the EGR valve located?
First, what is the exact code. There are a few areas in the EGR line that your problem could be. Only one of which is the valve.
Second, look over this link. It will fix alot of the EGR line issues.

Post tha code here when you get it before you go trying to pull the EGR valve out.
