1st Gen Rx7 angry chicken sound on warm startups
I have had 3 1st Gen Rx7s and all have made an odd wistle/ screech type sound that comes from a little box mounted on the drivers side inner fender of the engine compartment on startup when the engine is warm. The little box has a cable that runs from it to the carberator, my guess is that its linked to the squirters. I dont think its like a safty concern or anything like that but it just sounds so retarded/ uncool. Is there a repair for this or do I just unplu and discard the thing.

An angry chicken sound!!! Now that is hilarious. Have never heard it described quite like that but very effective. Immediately knew what you were refering too.
It is the hot start assist motor that is making the noise. It is there to open the throttle briefly on a hot restart to aid in easier start-up. Just unplug it. Most of them don't work anyway and you will not even notice the difference.
