Im considering buying a 1986 N/A RX-7. The guy says it needs a power steering unit and a differential mount. I'm not sure what he means about the power steering unit. Is it the pump or the whole configuration? And i've looked around online for the differential mount and have only seen pictures but not prices. Any ideas?

You need to find out if the car needs a PS pump, or a rack & pinion.

'89 Convertible RX-7 has Throttle Restriction issues under certain conditions
I'm at a loss for tracking down the cause of this now. It only happens during the day, after the car is warmed up. The car will all-of-a-sudden refuse to go over 1500 rpm, almost like it's gone into a safety mode. Oil temp, coolant temp, and engine temp are all well within norm's during this occurrence. Then, if I keep driving (at 35 mph in 5th gear) for about 5 minutes or so, the problem goes away, but pops back up if I tack the revs up over 4 or 5k rpm.
Is this an Electrical problem? If so, is it one that requires the replacing of the entire ECU?
Replaced fuel filter, spark plugs/wires, air filter, thermostat (checked coolant system, water pump is still working well), so I'm not thinking it's a problem of being restricted by anything other than the computer (feels like the spark or fuel is being cut at 1500 rpm when this occurs).
I'm baffled (but my engine isn't, cause she likes to breath!)

20b swap
hi. im looking into buying a 1991 fc gxl and doing a 20b swap. how much would a 20b cost and where would i look for one? what sort of work is required when it comes to engine mounts and such? overall, how much of a dent in my wallet should i be prepared for?

a 20b swap will ballpark in the area of $10-15k. the mounts and hard-to-find accessories can be found here http://banzai-racing.com/store/13B-RE_20B_products.html
https://www.mazdaforum.com/forum/mazda-rx-7-33/got-looking-my-first-rotary-what-expect-15989/ read posts 3-6 in this thread and it will shed light on the swap. you can find a motor at http://www.jdmtigerjapanese.com/details.php?id=3281 but it will most likely need a rebuild. http://www.atkinsrotary.com/index.php?pag=0 will rebuild it for you. you will still need to custom fit a radiator, figure out an intercooler, sort out engine management, and you will definitely want to do a single turbo swap. those are just the basics. good luck if you decide to do it.
