Engine has no compression.....I need Help
I have a 1988 RX-7 with 149K miles on it. I've had it for two years with no problems. On Sunday, I drove it to play poker. It ran great just like it always does. I parked it and about 3 hours later I went to leave and it would not start. Itried for about 30 mins, but could not get it to start. I had it towed tomy mechanics.Monday morning he tells me that the engine has no compression. I don't undeerstand how that could happen to a car that was sitting in a parking lot. He is not a Mazda mechanic.Does anybody know how that can happen? He tells me that I need a new engine. Is this true. I need some advice. Please help.

RE: Engine has no compression.....I need Help
Do you know how he tested the compression? Is he does not know how to work on Rotaries, I am pretty sure that he does not know how to do a compression check properly on them. Install a new set of plugs, but before you do, remove the old ones & crank the car over a few times. Make sure you remove the EGI COMP fuse first. While you are turning over the motor, have someone check to see if a mist is being pushed out the spark plug holes. After doing it about 3 times, install the new plug & reinstall the fuse & see if it helps any. The motor may just be flooded.

It flooded and washed out the apex seals. Do as mazmart says but squirt some oil in the plug holes to lube the apex seals. I have started hundreds with zero compression, it always comes back.
