my 87 gxl has a flat spot going through the rpm between 3500 and 4000. i havnt been able to figure it out yet and i was wondering if anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix it? im a newbie to the rotary engines but i have a good understanding of them.... just not diagnosing them. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Known issue with the 2G RX-7. Its called the 3800 RPM Stumble. It is extremely bad when the car is cold and hasn't had a chance to warm up. One thing is to let it get to operating temp before driving. if you still get the stumble, you can reground your ECU. Basically cutting the original ground and adding 3 thicker ground wires to body also including the original ECU Ground
