i BOUGHT A 85 RX7 WITH A 13B IN IT F/I IT HAS 87000 MILES ON IT AND IT DIDN'T RUN AT ALL WHEN I BOUGHT I PAYED $50. BUCKS FOR IT. I FINILY GOT IT TO RUN AND HEARS WHAT I DID TO IT. MAYBE TELLING YOU WILL HELP. i CHANGED THE FULE PUMP,FULTER AND THE FULE PRESSER SEN . NEW PLUGS AND WIRES ALSO AIRFLOW MEITER AS THAY HAD PLAYED WITH IT.AFTER I GOT IT STARTED I FOUND THAT THE CATS AND MIFFLER WERE BAD SO I PUT ON A PAIR OF GLASS PACKS. IT STARTS EASY BUT IT WANTED TO BACKFIRE SO I PLAYED WITH THE TIMEING A LITTLE AND THAT HELPED. IT WILL RUN GOOD IN 1 ST AND 2ND BUT FROM 3TH ON UP NOT SO GOOD IT WILL GET UP TO 80 BUT IT'S VERY SLOW DOING IT.aND IT WILL NOT PULL IN 5TH AT ALL.I HAD THE INECTERS CHECKED AND THE COUMPTER CHECKED AND IT SAID EVERY THING WAS OK.
SO IF ANY ONE WOULD HELP ME AS THERE IS NO ONE AROUND HERE THAT KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THEM OR WILL WORK ON IT SO I QUESS I'M ON MY OWN wOULD LIKE ANY HELP THAT U ALL WOULD GIVE ME.

Hello everyone, I purchased a 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE for $50. This is the FB model with the 13B fuel injected rotary in it, but most of you already were aware of such.

It didn't run when I purchased it, which would explain the purchase price of $50.

I was able to get it running, though. Here is what I did, it may help you in the future:

I changed the fuel pump, the fuel filter, and the fuel pressure sensor. I installed new spark plugs and wires. After I had started it I had thought that the catalytic converters and muffler were not functioning properly. I, of course, did not have much funds to spend on quality replacements, so I used glass pack mufflers. It now backfires, but playing with the timing helped that. It will run well, but not as well as I would like.
