I want to sell this 85 RX7 cause it needs more care than I want to put in. Body is in great shape as is the interior. Engine only has 30k on it and runs well. The problems are that it wouldn't pass smog and I'm told by the previous owner that he always had to have the carb adjusted in order to pass smog here in Calif and it may need a new catalytic converter cause they say these rotory engines burn a little more oil. It also has a short somewhere that keeps blowing the fuse that runs the radio and clock. Tires are new, tranny is new, starter is new and basically the engine was well cared for and runs well. So I'm wondering what you folks think a reasonable asking price would be for a manual 5 speed rotory 1985 mazda rx7 would be. More info: I recieved the car as a gift from someone who had it sitting in their garage for a few years. It seems the starter went out and the top bolt head was stripped. He banged on the bolt with a chissle for a long time and finally gave up. He said I could have it as he was sick of it so I got my dremel and had it running in an hour. I've put only $100.00 into it for registration and a smog check which failed. After talking to a few people about it who said that car will need tender loving car, I've decided I can only afford one vehicle needing that much care, a Harley Sportster which I dearly love.
